Hogwarts Will Always Be There To Welcome You Home

"Well, this is it." That was my exact thought while getting ready for the Harry Potter midnight showing. We went as Ginny and Harry, and it was so great to see other fellow potterheads dressing up and shouting spells at one another. There was even a Voldemort in the crowd at the showing I went to, shouting Avada Kedavra to random people. When the movie started, we were silent. Just watching, amazed and astounded that this was it, no more books, no more movies.
I remember reading these books in the fourth grade, and in the fifth grade my friends and I would have contests as to who could finish the book first. Harry Potter gave me magic in my life when I needed it most. He was there when my parents divorced, when my mom remarried, when she was sick and dangerously close to dying. Harry gave me hope. I thought, if he can live through a dangerous wizard trying to kill him, then surely I can live through this.
Now back to the movie. Chauncey and I got there around 11:20 to be sure we didn't miss any previews or anything else they might have had. It was so fun to point out people that came into the theater dressed as characters in the movie.
Of course the second part of the seventh film was everything I hoped for and more. It was so great to see a softer side of Snape, (Alan Rickman was so very perfect for that role!). I still wish that the first Dumbledore didn't die, because the second Dumbledore was not soft enough. The Fist Dumbledore was soft, and gentle. His demeanor was perfect for the roll. Regardless of all of that, the second Dumbledore wasn't too bad in the second movie (part 2 of HP&DH).
Anyways, Overall I thought it was amazing. I cried along with the rest of the audience seeing all of those that we lost (Fred, Tonks, Lupin, just to name a few.) And again when it was all over.
The movies were magically made (pun intended) and I couldn't have asked for a better cast.

Thank you J.K. Rowling, for everything.
