Jimmy Eat World

Last night was one of the coolest nights ever! I went to my very first concert. What an experience! It was seriously awesome. I always liked Jimmy Eat World. They are definitely in my top 5 favorite bands.

My Top Five Bands:
1.The Format
2.Jimmy Eat World
3. Jack's Mannequin
4.Weezer
5.Imagine Dragons

(Jack's mannequin was #2 before last night, but Jimmy Eat World took their place after seeing them live)

At first I was nervous, I had never been to a concert and I usually don't like loud situations or feeling crowded. I quickly got over this once the opening act (X-ambassadors, they were surprisingly really great) played their last two songs. Chauncey had found us a spot right up close to the stage. I could reach out and touch it if the security guard wasn't there. I then started to get even more excited once they started setting up the stage for Jimmy Eat World. When they came out everyone screamed and clapped. At first I was pretty quiet, but then they started playing songs like "work", "futures", "crush", "a praise chorus", "bleed american",  and "let it happen" (just to name a few). Once I heard "Futures" I started screaming along (I couldn't really hear myself singing, so I started screaming along with everyone else). Soon enough I was jumping up and down and dancing. If you know me, this behavior is SO unlike me. I am usually really shy and I don't like dancing or bringing attention to myself. But I didn't care, I loved knowing pretty much their whole setlist and being able to sing along. Being so close to the stage and feeling the music pound in my chest was the coolest feeling.  And you know what? Seeing them live in concert and screaming/singing along with pretty much all their songs they played made me like them even more! Of course they had to play "The Middle" and "Hear You Me". I wouldn't be surprised if they sang those at every concert. One of my favorite moments was when they did a cover of a Taylor Swift song. At first I was thinking I know this song...what is it? Chauncey was like "Isn't this Taylor Swift?" I said "no, it can't be!" Because they were seriously making this song sound SO GOOD. Guess what song it was? "We are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together." Crazy right? Sorry T-Swift, they did a WAY better job and they actually made that song enjoyable. I would totally buy it if they released it.
Anyways, this post is getting a little long so i'll share the pictures now. I just want to say that my first concert was awesome, and I'm so glad that I chose to see Jimmy Eat World. I always knew I liked them, but seeing them live made me like them even more. :)

Waiting

See how close we were?!

X-Ambassadors, the lead singer played SO MANY instruments! He's the one playing the saxophone, oh and their pianist was blind. They were way cool.

Finally!

Encore Set! It was really fun to chant "Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy!" With the crowd before they came out the second time.

Here's a compilation of a few videos I took.
First is "Hear you me" then "We are Never ever getting back together" and finally "work." They were off my phone so it's not the best quality, and it sounded way better in person, but the video is still pretty cool.

A Perfect Saturday

Yesterday was just perfect. We finally went on a hike, which is something I've been wanting to do since I moved here. It was a short hike, we only did Ensign Peak, but it was beautiful. I love the outdoors, and yesterday made me miss girls camp, living on a ranch and hunting. One of my favorite things about the mountains is seeing the long grass moving with the wind. It's as if it is making a silent musical melody with it's movements. I also loved seeing the various flowers and bugs. Once we got to the top Chauncey and I had a mini picnic. We talked and looked out at the Salt Lake Valley. We could see state street and how far it went. We could see everything. It was breathtaking.

Many of my friends on facebook have already seen a shorter version of this story, but I thought I would elaborate on it. As we were leaving, Chauncey and I were stopped by an older man. He said "Hey! I want to ask the little girl something" I really wanted to look around to see if their was some small child around us, but there wasn't. Which meant he was talking to me! I know I look young, and yesterday I looked younger than usual with two pigtail braids, but really...a little girl? Anyways, so we stopped and he said "I have a riddle for you" (pointing at me). I said okay...and he gave me some silly riddle about how does a bike stand by itself or something. To be honest I don't remember what it was about. I said I don't know and he gave me the answer. Chauncey and I chucked and started walking to our car. Once we were about to pull away he pulled up next to us in his car and gave us another riddle! It was really strange. So there's that story. Now for pictures!

Just getting started

The view from the top

At the top!

Hey look, something I actually want to write about!

in·tro·vert·ed
adj.
Marked by interest in or preoccupation with oneself or one's own thoughts as opposed to others or the environment; shy or reserved.
 -----
So if you know me, then you know I am quiet. I would definitely describe myself as an introvert. I also know this because I had to do one of those silly personality quizzes in one of my classes at school, and it described me as an introvert. Anyways, I saw this article today that a facebook friend posted.

All of those things pretty much describe me. At heart, I am a listener. I don't talk to people very often unless I know them pretty well or if they talk about something I am passionate about (The Office, teaching, maybe cooking). I very much dislike large social gatherings, unless they are with people I know very well. I have only a few select friends; I would much rather have one or two close friends rather than a lot of friends.

So if I'm not very talkative around you or it seem like I don't want to hang out or whatever, I'm sorry. I am just introverted.

Pretty much.

Yep.

Thank You Dunder Mifflin.

Last night...was so intense. I laughed, I cried, I gasped...It seems so silly that all of this was just over one tv show. But this tv show was my favorite show, of any show I've ever seen...and you know what, that's not an exaggeration, because it's true. The Office is a show that I can watch over and over again. Those characters were there for me when I needed to laugh. Jim and Pam's marriage was one of the best examples I could've had. Michael was like a best friend that I loved, even with all of his many annoying habits. Dwight...well Dwight was the best, because he was a true friend. Even with all of the pranks that Jim threw at him and the hard exterior, he really loved his co workers. I almost feel silly saying this, because it was just a tv show to some people, but to me...last night was like saying goodbye to an old friend. I won't apologize for loving it.

So...with all of that being said, here are some (there is no way I could fit them all in...that's what she said) of my favorite moments from the office. They aren't in order or anything. (This will be a long post...So yeah.) Also, if you haven't seen last night's episode, there are spoilers ahead.

Holly was so perfect for Michael!

How could you not love this moment!

I love Dwight.

Everything about  the"Goodbye, Michael" Episode was perfect.
Cried here too.

It's weird that I put this one on here, because I hated that moment so much, but at the same time I loved it. I was crying with Pam because it felt so real...Couples fight, and it was nice to know that Jim and Pam weren't perfect.

Classic. "He put my stuff in jello again!"

Ryan started the fire!

There are no words to describe how happy I was.

"So, from time to time, I send Dwight faxes from himself from the future." - Jim

Prison Mike.

I know all the words to this "rap". Sorry not sorry.

"Satchel" Definitely one of the best openings. It totally describes Stanley!

This was...just..perfect.
I was so happy to see Michael I literally started crying. Also because everyone said he wouldn't be there.
This was such a Michael thing to say. I loved it.

Work bus was probably one of the best episodes from Season 9
And of course, My all time favorite prank.

Thank you, for everything.
